According to Sree Narayana Guru there is no need to construct old fashioned expensive temples. Money should not be spent on celebrations and fireworks.What is required are big rooms where people can come and comfortably sit and listen to lectures. There should be schools and institutions for vocational training to children attached to the temples. The money received in the temples should be spent for the benefit of poor people.
